The Brooks 130 stairlift comes fully equipped with a powered hinge rail which is required if space at the bottom of the stairs is limited due to a door or walkway.

A powered hinged rail allows you to get on and off the stairlift when at the bottom safely. Once off, the stairlift can be sent up the stairs via remote control to park. The powered hinge rail will then automatically fold up leaving your doorway / walkway free of any obstruction. Powered hinge rails are much easier to use because then don't require the user to manually fold/ unfold the hinge.
